Ann Esarco appointed to IRS Advisory Council

Ann Esarco, Ph.D., CPA, EA, and MCC Instructor of Accounting, has recently been appointed for a three year term to the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council (IRSAC). IRSAC provides an organized public forum for IRS officials and representatives of the public to discuss key tax administration issues. IRSAC also suggests improvements to IRS policies, programs and procedures and contributes to discussions of concerns originating with IRS executives.

ICCTA Full-time Outstanding Faculty of the Year Award: MCC Nominee for 2010, Janet Scott

Congratulations to colleague, Janet Scott, our 2010 nominee for the Illinois Community College Trustees Association's Outstanding Full-Time Faculty Member Award. This award recognizes the high achievement of Illinois' full-time community college instructors. Janet has been with MCC since 1987 when she was hired as an adjunct faculty reference librarian. Janet became a full-time faculty reference librarian in 1992.

She currently teaches through the library’s Information Literacy Program which she created in 2001-2002. Janet also teaches a credit course, Information Literacy and Research and periodically offers Information Literacy for Educators—a graduate course offered through Aurora University.
